Workday with Ivy

Exhaust the body and the mind becomes free. The brain loses its momentum and slowly your awareness is different than before. I am tired and it feels pretty good actually.

Spent the day in town yesterday with Ivy with the aim of it being a workday. I worked on some project ideas, edited some images for a painting I’m hoping to start and drank coffee. Ivy recently has 3 newly acquired pet fish! Fish seem to be far more entertaining to me now then they were to me when I was a kid. Their names are Bubba, Diane, and Clementine. They have very distinct personalities and are so peaceful to watch. They remind me how when I lived at home and we had chickens. I used to love to lay out in the grass with our dog Bridgette and watch the chickens eat clovers and dandelion greens. The smell of white covers when I would put my cheek to the ground, it was like lightly spiced honey. The chickens would wander and Bridgette would watch them half asleep in the sun. On hot days when there was a light breeze you’d hear my moms wind chimes on the deck echo down to the bottom of the hill near the woods.

Today is a restful and meditative sort of day. I’m hoping to work more on the drawing I started a few days ago, something to get lost in the rhythm of which sounds perfect to me right now.

Thanks for reading!
