Sunny sand beach

Hi everyone!
I spent the day on Sand Beach with Ivy and Teagan. I say Sand Beach rather than sand beach because there is really only one and so that is its name. There were not too many people out despite the weather being close to 50. We hula hooped on the semi-hard sand and I eventually took my shoes off and was barefoot. I love being barefoot and winter time doesn’t always give you many opportunities to be barefoot outside. It always feels so grounding. The surface of the sand, the sensation of small shells and salt collecting around my ankles. We practiced some yoga moves as well working on handstands and Feathered Peacock pose. I still need to work on my strength but I’m getting there! I did end up planting my face in the sand in a rather worm-like fashion. That’s the nature of learning how your body works I guess 🙂

As we made our way back into town we stopped at some other coastal spots along the way. The forest is a like tango, stepping along the pink cliffs, waves twisting and rolling along the edges. It seduces me every time. I am always in awe of how close we live to such beauty. The pictures of the sunsets below are just a 5-minute walk down the road from my home. It really doesn’t get much better than that. You’ll find more pictures down at the bottom of this blog post!

The first time I came to Maine the smell of salt water and pine was beyond comprehension. It was a melody of sound and smells erupting along the shore, the woods, and the sea. I remember feeling relief. It’s the same feeling I get when I’ve been working on something for a while and I can stand back and just look. I looked at everything when I came to Maine. I would let myself walk slowly and fast just to see how the world would change. There is so much wonder when you just pay attention. Living in Maine continues to teach me the act of being.

Hope you had a great weekend and thanks for reading!
